It has an auxiliary input for playing along with your iPod. I searched high and low and finally found a small connector that jacks my shuffle directly into it thus eliminating any extra wires. If you think you might like something like this, I highly recommend ordering from Sweetwater because the are fast, friendly, and you pay no shipping.

ANYWAY, last night I dreamt that I had to come up with advertising slogans to promote a ride sharing program for the city of Los Angeles. This is a little closer to what I actually do these days, so I suppose that’s why what I came up with wasn’t too awful. When I woke up, I still remembered them, so I’m sharing them here with you. Imagine the following slogans in block letters on the side of a bus or something:

Shuttle Up and Ride, L.A.!
Van Up and Do It, L.A.!
Bus-A-Move, Los Angeles!

Ok, I admit that last one is weak, but not bad for in my sleep. In the dream they told me these were too “edgy” and rejected them. I get that a lot in real life, too. Maybe it was just a “workmare.”

To overcome the depression of owning a $500 game system with no game, I decided to go and buy the most popular title available for the PS3. That title is Motorstorm, the off-road racing game. At first, I thought I might tire of this game because when I played the demo it felt like I had mastered the track pretty quickly. But it turns out the track had a couple routes that I did not see at first, and I had only mastered one of them. Plus, there are many, many tracks.

All-in-all, this game is a whole lot of fun. There’s wide selection of vehicles from motor bikes up to big rigs, and the graphics are amazing! The physics and game play are super realistic. For instance, when you tread on fresh mud you will see those same tire tracks on the next lap. In fact, they claim that no two laps are ever the same because as you knock down signs, rocks and other objects, these environment changes persist the entire race. On top of all that, the nitro-bursting, crashes and explosions make this game completely insane. If you like driving/racing games even a little bit, I would totally recommend it.

You would think being brand new that it’d be state-of-the-art inside, but it just looked like the inside of a crappy old CompUSA. Also, it has the weird check-out queue where you line up and pay in a little room separated from the rest of the store kinda like in a Fry’s. I’ve only seen one other Best Buy like this.

The store was pretty empty except for approximately 300 blue-shirted pinheads wishing you good morning at every turn. There was one guy who was wearing a baby sling with his dog in it. For some reason, this doesn’t seem appropriate (or legal!)

All in all, it was pretty uneventful, but I did find some interesting “deals.” I don’t know if this was just for the opening or not, but each game system* had a title or two for only $1.99. I figured for 2 bucks, I’d try a couple. For the PS2 I bought 187 Ride or Die and Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon (they also had Sponge Bob Square Pants.) Ride or Die pretty much sucks and is not worth one dollar, (I shoulda bought Sponge Bob!) but Ghost Recon is pretty decent.

Anyway, we got a Best Buy real close now. If only they’ll open the Chili’s and the BevMo, we’ll be set!
