Ever since these fantastic ice cream treats disappeared from Dodger’s stadium a few years back, we hadn’t seen a trace of them… until yesterday. I ate mine in the car on the way home from the store. IT WAS SO GOOD! Pick yourself up some up at a local Vons. At a buck each they are about 1/3 the cost of Dodger’s stadium.

Well, recently I had her restored to her former glory. Big thanks to Mr. Jalopy and Jesse over at Coco’s Variety Store for doing the work! They respectfully restore old bicycles, and love doing it. It is the nicest ride in the garage now! I’ve been riding it around the block pretty much every day. I feel like I’m 15 again.

I finally retrieved my Redline 600a from my parent’s rafters. they have probably moved 3 times since I was 14, so I was pleasantly surprised to learn they hadn’t thrown it out.

She needs dusting and she’s caked with grime. One day my son will ride her. Check out these features.

This bike has ramp tires on it that I put on when I stopped BMXing, and it just became my street bike. Anyhow, I pumped them up last night and this evening they still have air. I took a short ride and I was a kid again.

Finally, the first day back to the gym after my week and a half of illness. Heather said she wanted to go to the gym, too. I told her OK, but she mustn’t talk to me while we were there. I don’t want those bubbly early morning regulars wondering why I never talk to anyone and then suddenly I’m chatting up this girl. It’s important I keep my early morning grumpy reputation intact.

So we wake up early and get ready. We’re about to leave and she comes walking out with a black brick in her hand.

“What the hell is that?”, I say wondering if she’s about to brain me with it.

“It’s my Walkman.” she says.

Walkman? Do people even use that word anymore? I inspect it closer and it truly is a legitimate Sony Walkman with auto-reverse and am/fm tuner. She is very proud of her 14-yr-old analog relic and I don’t blame her. The thing is in pristine working condition. I can only attribute this to how seldom she goes to the gym.

“Where the heck do you find cassette tapes anymore?”, I ask in early morning disbelief.

Oh, she’s got that covered, too — an entire box of mix tapes, circa who-knows-when. They are not labelled, but I’m sure the music is equally as silly. “Got any Ho-Jo in there?”

I told her if she could hold on to it for another 7 or 8 months she’ll be totally hip again. Then I was like, “OK, see you after Jazzercise!”
